Rado reconfirms its support for the creative talent of tomorrow

Rado is once again the main sponsor of the 2009 Dutch Design Awards www.dutchdesignawards.nl Rado’s creative approach is based upon constant technological research into new ways of transcending form and matter. In their quest for functionality and beauty, which has often seen the pioneering use of materials, design has become a fundamental part of the famous Swiss watch brand. With this in mind, Rado are strongly pursuing their activity in promoting and educating young talented designers. Therefore, for the second time, Rado will be presenting the Rado Young Design Award at the prestigious 2009 Dutch Design Awards held at Eindhoven on October 17th. High calibre finalists. Nominated for the originality and creativity of their approach and for their choice and treatment of materials, three candidates have been selected unanimously by a panel of experts. In no particular order, they are: * Mattijs van Bergen, a stylist whose approach lies at the crossroads of fashion and a form of graphic expression, and whose models’ lines and materials are structured and finely worked in full elegance. * Atelier NL, comprising two designers who demonstrate the extent to which creative research represents an essential part of design, with objects that reveal the very essence of their craftsmanship.
