The final piece in our 2019 designer collaboration series has been unveiled at a special event in Japan. We created the True Thinline Toge in association with renowned Japanese food artist and designer Ayako Suwa.
Inspired by the famous pufferfish, the design features a distinctive textured dial, thorn-shaped hands and has a special Toge caseback engraving. Toge means thorn in Japanese and the watch explores the tension between the natural beauty of the pufferfish, its deadly toxins and the fact that humans are naturally drawn to eat something delicious, beautiful and dangerous at the same time.
The idea unites Ayako’s passion for nature-driven design, her strong sense of Japanese culture and her aim was to accentuate the intrinsic beauty of the person who wears the watch. Limited to just 1,001 pieces, it’s the latest in our 2019 True Designer series of collaborations, all of which feature the True Thinline collection. Discover the watch here.
