New design collaboration with Inma Bermudez

13 February 2019

At a special event held during Madrid Design Week, Rado presented its very latest designer collaboration with award-winning Spanish designer Inma Bermudez.

The True Thinline Gem was launched during a special event attended by journalists and members of the design community. The watch represents Inma’s unique style as well as using signature Rado materials to create an eye-catching jewellery-inspired timepiece designed to stand the test of time.

Taking inspiration from the Rado DiaStar from 1962 with its distinctive facetted sapphire crystal, Inma has adapted the brand’s slimmest watch in her own inimitable way, making it look like an enormous gem. The illusion of depth is created when the light reflects and refracts in the crystal, falling on the textured relief dial which recalls Inma’s work with porcelain.

Adding to the depth and sparkle is the application of 12 tiny diamonds at the outer edges of the dial as well as subtle gold coloured detailing that draws the eye and adds warmth to the icy, porcelain look of the True Thinline Gem.
