Rado Star Prize Spain 2019 Winners
13 February 2019
Rado is very proud to announce the winner of the 2019 Rado Star Prize Spain. Miguel Giner was selected as the winner of the Judges’ Prize from the eight finalists.
Miguel’s project, Vajilla Petra, was chosen for its innovation in production processes, and for creating a new and genuine language with such an ancestral material as porcelain. The Public Prize winner was Javier Martín Pérez, with his project Coaxial Theorem for Apollonian Objects.
The theme for this year’s competition was Design with Timeless Appeal which challenged entrants to create something enduring, long-lasting and versatile.
This is the second time that Spain has hosted a Rado Star Prize and the winners’ announcement is one of the first of many to come in 2019. The Rado Star Prize is well-known in the design community. It has so far helped designers from Europe, Africa, North America and Asia kick start their design careers and continues to attract some of the biggest names in design as judges.
The Rado Star Prize gives up-and-coming designers a platform to show their work to a panel of design industry experts as well as the general public. It is part of Rado’s dedicated programme of design events, collaborations and partnerships.
