Rado Star Prize France 2017

27 June 2017

The finalists have been chosen in the Rado Star Prize France 2017, and one particularly poetic object has been selected as the winner of the prix du jury.

Julien Manaira, a design student in the Netherlands, has won the prix du jury with his project ‘The Once Liquid Plastic’ – a handmade shelf crafted with a unique approach to plastic resin casting. “The winning project was chosen due to its experimental use of materials: a use that allows the creation of an ethereal object, with blurred contours and where the material becomes immaterial – an aspect that reinforces the poeticism of the object,” stated jury chairman Philippe Nigro.

The winner of the Rado Star Prize France jury prize and the ten finalists selected for the Rado Star Prize France public prize will have the chance to exhibit their projects at Now! Le Off in the famous building ‘Les Docks – Cité de la Mode et du Design’ during Paris Design Week from 9-13 September 2017.
