The Rado True Round x Les Couleurs® Le Corbusier® Special Edition continues the collaboration between Rado and Les Couleurs Suisse® with three models inspired by defining works of modern architecture. Each watch connects the pure round geometry of the True Round to Le Corbusier’s material vision, with laser-engraved high-tech ceramic dials referencing La Cité Radieuse, the Carpenter Center for the Visual Arts, and the Palace of Assembly in Chandigarh.
A watch like no other, designed by the renowned Tej Chauhan and engineered with Rado’s unmatched mastery of materials. The DiaStar Original x Tej Chauhan is the future evolution of the iconic first DiaStar 1 from 1962, reimagined with Tej Chauhan's bold, modern aesthetics while staying true to its legendary design. Crafted with a radiant yellow gold-coloured PVD case and complemented by an avant-garde rubber strap, this timepiece is a striking fusion of industrial design and Rado's legacy of innovation.
The Rado True Square x Kunihiko Morinaga Special Edition is the result of a natural partnership between
an innovative brand and a disruptive fashion visionary who are dedicated to blending the boundaries
between technology and design.
The transparent dial is one of the watch’s defining elements. In true Kunihiko Morinaga fashion, it has a
photochromic treatment, which means that it changes colour according to the available light. The designer
explains, “The intent was to add colour and take it away. I tried to capture the ethereal nature of time in
the design by integrating a photochromic lens that changes colour based on ultraviolet light.”
When it is exposed to sunlight, the True Square’s dial darkens. But as the sun goes down –
as it invariably does – the dial shade evolves into grey and finally becomes transparent, revealing the Rado
calibre R734 at the heart of the watch.
The DiaStar Original 60-Year Anniversary Edition has been created in collaboration with the Swiss designer Alfredo Häberli. Framed by a radial-brushed Ceramos™ coiffe with polished angles and detailing set over a matching, monochrome stainless steel case, the watch also features a sapphire crystal with hexagonal facets to mark six decades since the original watch. The case and dial are made in a monochromatic colour scheme, whereas the hands and hour markers are coloured with a touch of Super-LumiNova®.
