Comtesse

Can I start a textile brand with production in Norway that can compete with the quality of serious international brands? With this criteria and skilled collaboration partners Comtesse was born.

The textiles are manufactured in a sustainable manner in picturesque Innvik, Norway. Not in big volumes, but in a small scale, by demand. The artisan weavers at Innvik transforms the yarn into colorful fabrics - it’s quality, nature and luxury. The two fabrics Bambus and Zebra are made of ( 92%) wool and it’s durable and perfect for pillows and curtains as well as upholstery for all kinds of furniture.

Bambus is fresh, but in a timeless manner. The inspiration comes from old stylistic Japanese etches of bamboo branches rising from a pond. The colors are set in a palette designed for Scandinavian homes with a soft spot for personal style.

Zebra can be visually interpreted in many ways. If you see the print horizontally it might resemble the texture of a birch forest, but vertically it can look like the stripes of a zebra. The smaller repetition of the print makes it perfect for upholstery and adds a playful vibe to any room.

Moving Mamas is a local initiative to help more immigrant women into work. The highly skilled immigrant women sew the textiles with a great sense of quality and tailoring.
