Feel the Moment
Rado has sponsored tennis for more than three decades and is proud to support the brightest names in the sport who inspire audiences every time they step on court.
A career that inspired the world
Ash Barty retired from tennis at the beginning of 2022 after winning the Australian Open and Wimbledon a few months earlier. Watching her spine-tingling performances and her elegant, athletic style of play kept her fans captivated.
Her partnership with Rado started at a very early stage of her career and goes beyond her active time on the tennis court. We are excited to accompany our brand ambassador Ash in the next chapter of her life.
Rado has an enviable heritage as a sponsor of international tennis tournaments. For more than 30 years Rado corner clocks have kept track of every moment. Rado is at the centre of the action in a sport where timing is everything.
Swiss Indoors Basel
Switzerland’s best-loved sports event has a glorious history going back decades. It boasts an impressive list of former champions, including Bjorn Borg, Ivan Lendl, John McEnroe, Boris Becker and Pete Sampras. Local hero Roger Federer, who was once a ball boy in the tournament, has won the 10 titles, making him the tournament’s most successful player.
Erste Bank Open Wien
Held in front of packed crowds at Vienna's Stadthalle, the Erste Bank Open is one of the highlights in Austria's sporting calendar. Since its inception in 1974, legends of the sport such as André Agassi, Thomas Muster, Dominic Thiem and Alexander Zverev have competed in epic battles for the coveted winner's trophy.
Abierto Mexicano Acapulco
The Mexican Open is Latin America’s most storied tournament and has been graced by some of the sport’s greatest players over the past 25 years. Since 2001 it has been held in Acapulco, the Pearl of the Pacific, cradled between the ocean and the jungle-green hills, a magical setting for this celebration of tennis.
EFG Swiss Open Gstaad
The EFG Swiss Open Gstaad is considered Switzerland’s oldest tennis tournament and can look back on an impressive success story since the very first serve in 1915. Many big names in the traditional sport have already made their way to the Bernese Oberland, among them Stefan Edberg, Ilie Nastase, Tony Roche, Rod Laver, Boris Becker, Yannick Noah, Jim Courier and Roger Federer, who won the tournament in 2004.
Open Parc Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes Lyon
The Open Parc Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes Lyon, which was launched in 2017, is traditionally held the week before the French Open. The clay-court tournament is part of the ATP Tour 250 and is one of five ATP tour events that take place in France, alongside Montpellier, Marseille, Metz and Paris. Frenchmen Benoît Paire and Jo-Wilfried Tsonga have won two out of the previous four editions. The tournament was cancelled in 2020 due to Covid-19. Rado YoungStars Cameron Norrie and Ugo Humbert will also be competing for the title in 2022.
Rado has been supporting Swiss tennis since 2016 as the association partner of Swiss Tennis. This also includes title sponsorship for the biggest Swiss mass sports event in tennis, the Rado Interclub Championships, in which over 30,000 tennis players participate each year. Rado has recently also become the presenting partner of the Swiss Tennis International Tour, which comprises all ITF professional tournaments in Switzerland. In doing so, Rado is making an important contribution to the development of tennis in Switzerland.
Our globally renowned YoungStars programme supports some of the most exciting up-and-coming tennis players on the circuit. Our aim is to create a team of fearless players blazing a trail to the top. We’ll be with them every step of the way.
‘Precision is essential in tennis and watchmaking.’
Cameron Norrie is the most recent young tennis pro to join the ranks of Rado’s rising stars. A South African who grew up in New Zealand and has represented Great Britain since 2013, Cameron is currently enjoying his best season to date: at 25 the former Top-10 junior is ranked at a career high 29, reflecting his 35 tour-level wins in 2021, including his first career ATP Tour title at the Mifel Open in Los Cabos, Mexico. Cameron’s maiden title came in his fourth ATP Tour final of the season following earlier runs to the championship match in Estoril, Lyon and at The Queen’s Club.
On the way to the top
Linda Noskova is the latest member of the Rado YoungStars Team. After a great junior career (reaching world #5 and winning Roland Garros in 2021), she won six tournaments at ITF level and is already in the Top 100 in the WTA rankings. Linda also qualified for two Grand Slam main draws at the age of just 17. One of her biggest victories came at the US Open, where she beat her idol Serena Williams (in doubles).
